This astringent offers astringent properties of natural plant extracts without the drying effect of alcohol.
Making it ideal for individuals with skin that is more mature. (30+)

Astringents are useful in controlling surface oils and lowering the skin’s pH after cleansing.

Astringents are best used in case of oily skin or combination dry/oily skin.

The base can be used as-is or you can be creative and add extracts, essential oils and other nutrient ingredients for their special properties.

NOTE: You may encounter a cloudy reaction when adding essential oils or natural aromas to this base because oils and water do not mix.
Clouding can be minimized by using a liquid emulsifier like Polysorbate 20 until the product becomes clear.

Shelf Life
Skincare is food for the skin.

The two goals of fresh and natural - a natural product should be fresh and a fresh product should be natural. The normal anticipated shelf life of a natural product is about 1 year from the date of purchase from the manufacturer. The actual shelf life of the product may be longer or shorter depending on how the product is altered, changed, stored, packaged and handled before sale to the final consumer. If ingredients are added to our bases and stock products, you’ll want to consider if they will shorten or change the shelf life and stability of the product.

In general, it is up to the company that is selling to the final consumer to determine the anticipated shelf life of the product. Currently the FDA does not require expiration dates on cosmetics or skincare products. Consider being conservative about expiration time frames and encouraging the consumer to use up the product while it is fresh (3-6 months) or discard it after the time frame has passed.
