Bacopa monnieri (Brahmi Powder, Coastal Waterhyssop, Brahmi, Thyme-leafed gratiola, Water hyssop) is a perennial, creeping herb whose habitat includes wetlands and muddy shores.
Bacopa monnieri is an Ayurvedic herb used in India that commonly grows in marshy areas throughout India. Bacopa is two saponins, designated as bacopaside I and II. Additional phytochemicals betulinic acid, wogonin and oroxindin have been isolated from the aerial parts of Bacopa monniera. Bacopa also has the flavonoids apigenin and luteolin.
