Shea Butter is the second ingredient in the list. I tried it on my face and it went in quickly and felt like velvet on the skin.

I really enjoy using this base for my lotion products! It has a sweet, light scent of shae butter. It is rich, emollient, and creamy by itself, and adds its delightful qualities to my lotion. I add coconut oil, sunflower oil, and essential oils to it and expand it by about 40%. The oils do not separate, and the base preservatives keep my lotion fresh and shelf stable. I have a lotion that I made a year ago that is still super fresh--no refrigeration necessary. Perfect.

This is much thicker than a lotion--it is very creamy, rich and leaves a decided residue on the skin.  Good for very dry skin but not suitable for everyday light use.
