Oat Straw Green Tops (Avena sativa), also known as the common oat, is a species of cereal grain grown for its seed, which is known by the same name.

Oat straw is high in silica and extremely nourishing to the skin. It is very soothing and relaxing when added to bath and skin care formulations.

Oat extract can also be used to soothe skin conditions. It is the principal ingredient for the Aveeno line of products.
