Details Ingredients & Additional Information

Grapefruit (Citrus × paradisi) is a subtropical citrus tree known for its sour fruit, an 18th-centuryhybrid first bred in Barbados. When found, it was named the "forbidden fruit"; and it has also been misidentified with the pomelo or shaddock (C. maxima), one of the parents of this hybrid, the other being sweet orange (C. × sinensis).

The fruit has become popular since the late 19th century; before that it was only grown as an ornamental plant. The United States quickly became a major producer of the fruit, with groves in Florida, Texas, Arizona and California.

Still considered one of the 7 wonders of Barbados, the grapefruit is high in vitamin C, fiber, potassium, iron, and calcium.

Cosmetic Uses: Grapefruit Peel Powder provides a mild grapefruit scent and offers some extra exfoliating properties. In soap making, simply add grapefruit peel powder directly at trace and blend well before adding essential oils. When used in body care products, it is said to promote skin tone, and be an excellent base ingredient in facial masks of all sorts.

Used in facial masks, scrubs, dusting powder and many other cosmetic applications.
