Description Ingredients & Technical Information

Goat’s milk has been recognized as a natural emollient for centuries. Goat’s milk helps soothe and moisturize the skin and contains important vitamins such as A, B6, B12 and E. It also has 3 times more beta-casein than cow’s milk. Caseins are easily absorbed into the skin and allow for quick hydration of dry skin. The content of triglycerides, capric, caprylic and caproic acid helps balance the skin’s natural pH and promotes natural exfoliation of dry skin.

Cosmetic Uses: Goat’s Milk Powder is an excellent way to incorporate a consistent amount of Goat's Milk in your products. It is an exceptional ingredient to include in bath soaks, soaps, creams and lotions.

Usage: To use in melt & pour soap, measure out 1/2 oz of powder per 16 oz of soap and make a thick paste with a small amount of water. Add the paste to the melted base and stir to incorporate.

For cold process soap add 1-2 Tablespoon of goat milk powder per pound of oils in your recipe. Reserve some of the water from your recipe and add enough water to the goat milk powder to create a slurry or paste. Add the goat milk paste to your soap at light trace.

This is full cream goat's milk powder.

Recommended reconstitution: 1 oz powder to 8 oz water

To Make Milk Soaps Using Powdered Milk:

Since you will be using the powder the soap will not turn brown.

Add 1 oz per pound of oils in the recipe. Mix the powdered milk with just enough water to form a thin paste, and add it to the soap after it is done cooking. Mix well. Make sure your soap is fully cooked and not still caustic before you add the milk otherwise it will turn brown. You may need to give the soap a couple of days to firm up if you are using this method.

Do not try to discount the water if you are using this method. It will make it very difficult to stir the soap at the end. Just give it a few days to dry out completely.
